As time went by, Kathy decided she wanted to move out west. Through a friend, she was told about Pagosa Springs. As she drove from
Kathy called an ad she saw in the Pagosa Sun about the Welcoming Service and Camille came to her house and gave her a warm welcome. They talked about the wonderful community and all it has to offer. Kathy said to Camille that she must have one of the best jobs in Pagosa and if the Welcoming Service ever needs any help, please let her know. Less then six months, Kathy also became a Greeter.
In addition to being a Greeter, Kathy was a counselor with the Day Treatment Program, Southwest Mental Health and currently is a tutor with

Marsha Hill and her husband, Jack,

Camille Braselman was born and reared in
a small town near
During her teaching career, Camille taught Kindergarten through sixth grade, and some adult education. After twenty years of teaching in various parts of the In the early part of 1996, Camille and her then-new-husband Richard visited a friend who had recently moved to Pagosa Springs. "It was love at first sight, says Camille, when we saw this lovely little town nestled in these beautiful mountains. We spent the following week touring around the town and the area, and looking at real estate. We were amazed at how friendly the people were. We intended to one day live in this little piece of heaven, as we still call it." And, as they say, "the rest is history." Camille and Richard have made Pagosa Springs their home since January, 1997, when Richard took an early retirement from his company of 32 years. He is presently employed by the town of After substitute teaching for the first several years in Pagosa, and doing some volunteer work for the Humane Society, she became a greeter with the Pagosa Springs Welcoming Service in January, 2001. She loves what she does, and always calls this "the best job in Pagosa." She thoroughly enjoys greeting newcomers and sharing her enthusiasm about Pagosa, with all of its opportunities to bring newcomers, businesses and community together.
